A sloping site situated in Thalduwa Avissawella cover a land extent of three and a half acres, was originally a rubber plantation. On the site are four complexes; an office, a turbine manufacturing factory, staff quarters and a holiday bungalow towards the far end, all belonging to VS Hydro(Pvt)Ltd.
At the far end was once a marsh, which was excavated to give way to an artificial lake, partly over which the three storied bungalow cantilevers. A steel box resting perpendicularly on two parallel rubble walls cantilevers on to the water form a crucifix in plan. During the monsoon season the water of the lake rises until it reached the beam level of the cantilevering living area floor, creating magic on water.
